Short version
Fieldwire and Daily Site Log are not the same kind of tool.
- Fieldwire (owned by Hilti) is a field management platform built around drawings: plan viewing and markups, tasks, punch lists, inspections, and on paid plans, daily reports and forms.
- Daily Site Log does one thing: the daily report. Crew, weather, work done, deliveries, delays and stamped photos, turned into a sealed PDF for the client.
If your foremen live in the drawings, Fieldwire is worth paying for. If what you need is a daily record that gets filed every day and holds up later, you are paying Fieldwire per user for features you will not use.
We make Daily Site Log. Fieldwire figures below come from third-party pricing pages and are labelled.

Where Fieldwire is better
- Drawings. Plan viewing, version control, markups and hyperlinked sheets are excellent and Daily Site Log has none of it.
- Tasks and punch lists pinned to locations on the plan.
- RFIs and submittals on Business Plus, for teams that want them in the field tool.
Where Daily Site Log is better
- The free plan includes the report. Fieldwire's free Basic plan does not include reports or exports.
- Price. One flat price for up to 5 people, monthly.
- Built for the end of the shift. Open to a pre-filled report, talk for a minute, attach photos, submit. Weather fills itself on Pro and Business.
- A record that holds up. Structured delays, photos stamped with time and GPS, and a sealed PDF the client can verify at dailysitelog.com/verify.

Which one should you pick?
- Your crews work from drawings and close out punch lists: Fieldwire.
- You need the daily record for the client, delays and disputes: Daily Site Log.
- Both: price Fieldwire Pro for the people who need drawings, and Daily Site Log for the daily report, then compare against one Fieldwire tier for everyone.

Frequently asked questions
Is Fieldwire free?
Fieldwire has a free Basic plan for up to 5 users, 3 projects and 100 sheets, but reports and exports start on the paid Pro plan (about $39 per user per month billed annually). Daily Site Log's free plan includes the full daily report PDF for one project and 10 reports a month.
Is Daily Site Log cheaper than Fieldwire?
For daily reports, yes. Daily Site Log charges one flat price per company ($19 Pro, $79 Business with 5 seats). Fieldwire charges per user, so five users on Pro cost about $195 a month billed annually.
Does Daily Site Log do drawings and punch lists?
No. Daily Site Log does daily reports only, by design. If you need plan viewing, markups, tasks pinned to drawings and punch lists, Fieldwire is the stronger tool.
Can I use both?
Yes, and some teams do: Fieldwire for drawings and punch lists, Daily Site Log for the daily record the client receives. Check whether the combined cost beats one Fieldwire tier that covers both.
